In the Absence of First Light

A lighthouse, a green flash, and the veil between life and death.

Moving from Colorado to a small seaside town in England would be hard on any teenager, specially following the loss of both parents in a tragic car accident. Recently orphaned and with his fisherman cousin away at sea, Arthur is left to navigate his new world alone. The only familiar face is his friend, Mariah, and the curious boy from class, Tom, who persists in getting to know him. Tom is everything Arthur isn’t; extravagant, happy, adventurous, unafraid. Tom insists on showing Arthur the town’s lone lighthouse, and the evening calls into question everything Arthur thought he knew about life and death.

The line between reality and absurdity is blurred until Arthur can hardly tell there was ever a line to begin with.
